Crafting Narratives That Matter. In Canada. In India.

For Global News Newscast

At Global News TV, I focus on local coverage.

The idea is to find stories that resonate with the city and its people.

The job is to create simple and engaging narratives that inform and integrate different cultural, social and public issues for TV, web and radio.

I write. I shoot. I edit.

Textura.

This isn’t everyday storytelling. This is a passion project. It took years of planning, weeks of reporting, and a constant desire to amplify the voices we believe need to be heard.

Textura is a study abroad project envisioned by the Bethel University Journalism and Design departments and executed in collaboration with BU students and local teams at various international locations including Antigua, Guatemala (2017, 2022) and Haryana, India (2020, 2024). View the most recent project online, here, and don’t forget to check out the magazine and documentary content! These projects are student written, student documented, student directed, and student designed.

Local Matters.

Homelessness is a complex problem, and one without a simple solution — but for those on the front lines at Winnipeg’s Siloam Mission, it’s all about reaching one person at a time.

Monica Ballantyne, lived experience advisory co-ordinator at the long-running charity and emergency shelter, told Global Winnipeg's Hersh Singh she has a perspective many of Siloam’s clients can understand, as she was in their shoes not long ago.

Design Work.

I inherited Expressions in the 2nd year of my Bachelor's degree.

I oversaw design, editorial and operations for the journalism department of the school.

During my time, as the editor-in-chief, my biggest achievement was to overhaul the design process,  and modernizing it for the coming generations of aspiring designers.

I created workshops to help integrate the system into the curriculum and trained fresher's to take over after me.

Background.

I am a multimedia journalist, fluent in the language of words, visuals, and sound. I write, I shoot, I edit—weaving narratives that showcase the world around us.

From the pages of Textura and the Indian Express to the airwaves of television and radio, I've explored a diverse landscape of media.

Other than that, I have a Bachelor's degree (Hons.) in English Literature with Psychology and Journalism (Minors) as well as a diploma in Broadcast Journalism.

So, whether it is capturing the vibrant colours of India under a scorching 50°C sun or the quiet resilience of Canada in the depths of a -40°C winter, my lens has always been focused on the human experience.
